
Matthew T. McWilliams
Matt McWilliams is a founding Attorney and Managing Member at Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC. Prior to attending law school at Texas Wesleyan University School of Law (now Texas A&M University School of Law), Matt worked as an independent field landman examining title in various counties in Texas and Arkansas.
He continued to work in the field throughout law school, gaining seven years of land and title experience prior to moving to Houston. In the years preceding the founding of KMD, Matt worked as an oil and gas attorney with a primary focus on the drafting of drilling and division order title opinions for oil and gas exploration and production companies in Texas and the Rocky Mountain states.
Mr. McWilliams has also participated in the management of due diligence projects for clients involved in the purchase or sale of producing and non-producing oil and gas properties totaling more than four billion dollars. Additionally, Matt McWilliams, advises clients on surface and mineral title issues, prepares various documents associated with the exploration of oil and gas for operators, non-operators, and surface owners, and provides curative support.
Matt McWilliams is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Texas, and North Dakota. He is based in the Houston, Texas, office for Kearney, McWilliams & Davis, PLLC.
